Joplin, MO to Albuquerque, NM
Continuing my trip in American Truck Simulator following Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, I started the day in Joplin, Missouri, picking up all-terrain hysters. I followed Route 66 through Galena, Kansas. The mural on the building reads, “Greetings from Galena On Historic Route 66.”

Kansas State Route 66 includes art:

Near the Oklahoma-Kansas border on Route 66, Miami, Oklahoma.

Continuing Route 66 follow US-69 south, take US-412 west merging with I-244 to Tulsa then exit to follow Route 66 signs onto Southwest Blvd. This image below taken from an unreachable end of the boulevard using the fly-cam.

Below images show turning right onto Southwest Blvd followed by an in-cab driver’s view on the road.

From Tulsa take I-44 west to Oklahoma City and take I-40 west.

At Clinton, Oklahoma exit I-40 and follow Route 66 signs around town to reach the Route 66 Museum.

Heading west on I-40 soon after crossing the Texas border look for Shamrock. Navigating this town in game is easier when traveling east making it simple to exit drive through town and return to the interstate. Traveling west may mean turning around which I did in area out front of the diner shown here.

North of Amarillo, Texas, I picked up this load of JCB HTD-5E electric dumpsters. They look cute.

In Adrian, Texas, exit I-40 for the Route 66 Midpoint between Chicago and Los Angeles. The sign states 1139 miles to Los Angeles. Since leaving the start sign in Chicago, I have driven 1414 miles over three days now on my 9th job headed for Tucumcari.

Continue west on I-40, and at Tucumcari, New Mexico, follow the Route 66 signs through town.

At Santa Rosa, exit I-40 to follow the Route 66 signs through town and return to I-40.

Ending my day, I stopped at the Route 66 rest area between Santa Rosa and Albuquerque.
