Loved their interaction, very well written as I always say, but that doesn't mean it gets any less true :)

I'm glad you brought this important writing topic up.

True, eyes--and mirrors--have been used too often for metaphor and as devices. I never describe eyes unless crucial to the story, and try not to over-describe other character features (may have overdone it on Sebastian's size in previous parts.)

This is something I thought about several years ago when I first starting writing about these creatures for my novel. Here, I establish Tabitha's eyes under dim light--hinting unusual--and then describe the transition from moonlight into darkness. Since it didn't bother, there must be good balance. I use "unusual descriptors" for highly unusual eyes and to achieve the feeling that Sebastian is distracted by (fearful of) them.

I have no plans to revise description of Tabitha's eyes.

Thanks.

Engaging. I agree with some of the other comments that you have a gift for dialogue and strong imagery. As I have been trying to sell my manuscript, I received a bit of feedback on my writing that may help you. Someone told me, beware of describing eyes, meaning that if you over-describe it can be distracting and often seem either cliche or unbelievable. (example: comparing blue eyes to a pool of water). It didn't' trip me up too much but you do refer to eyes in several different ways and with unusual descriptors. Maybe take a look at that if you plan to do a revision.

Another excellent installment. Great interaction between the two of them. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
